I entered 3rd trimester 7 weeks ago but hey it’s not too late for 2nd trimester update! This pregnancy has been such a breeze. With my son, I kept track of my pregnancy weekly but this time, I am just so busy taking care of my son and doing chores that I don’t even remember what week I am at with my pregnancy. This gal had to check her pregnancy app every time someone asks me how far along am I 🤣
How far along?
I am currently 34 weeks ++. My initial due date was supposed to be September 29th but after a few scans and a lot of scares that my baby is not growing as it should be, turned out that it was just an error in my last menstrual period (when you’re breastfeeding, it screws up your ovulation) and my due date has been changed to October 15th based on the growth of the baby.
Oh, gosh, I gained 12 kg this pregnancy 😂 When we all thought my baby wasn’t growing as it should be, I thought it was my fault because I hadn’t been eating much + when you’re breastfeeding, your nutrients goes to your breastmilk. So to compensate, I ate a heck lot. It’s not even funny.
I did not buy any new clothing items at all. We were in lockdown and I haven’t been going out except to the clinic and hospital for checkups so there’s literally no point in buying new clothes. I did buy some clothes for Eid celebration but those weren’t maternity clothing.
I think I am sleeping okay. But I can only sleep on my sides. If I sleep on my back, my lungs feel like they are being compressed (??) and I couldn’t breathe properly. This did not happen with my first pregnancy.
Best moment this week?
I went for a checkup a few days ago and alhamdulillah my baby is doing really, really well. My only issue this pregnancy is my haemoglobin reading is not as it should be (slightly anaemic) same with my first pregnancy. But this time around, I do not have gestational diabetes! A HUGE YEAY! I’ve been enjoying my coffee, tea, cakes, and all sweet treats I laid my eyes on. It’s heavenly!
I don’t have food cravings this time. Like I said, this pregnancy is such a breeze, if it hadn’t been for my growing belly I wouldn’t have known that I’m pregnant haha.
Anything makes you queasy?
I am blessed with having no morning sickness for both of my pregnancies. I don’t throw up, literally nothing makes me gag. BLESSED.
I already revealed the gender on my Instagram stories and Twitter so I’m just going to say it here – we’re having a GIRL! 😍
Something you’re looking forward to?
I look forward to giving birth. I mean I love my babies, I love being pregnant but twice in less than two years AND in a pandemic – it’s a crazy, crazy experience! I am soooo looking forward to raising my babies and working out to get my ideal weight back!
