My Current Favourite Base Makeup

I was a drugstore gal for as long as I remember. But recently, my drugstore base concoction was no longer working on my skin and I found myself reaching for these products more. I’m on MAC beauty phase in life where everything MAC just works on my skin and correlate with my skincare routine.

Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiére, RM188

I was actually planning to buy the Lightful Primer but the SA suggested that I buy this one instead as it suits my skin better. It’s a wonderful primer in my opinion. It gives me a radiant glow and it works nicely with the foundation. The more important thing is none of the products broke me out so that’s good news. I tried using this primer with my Maybelline SuperStay Foundation as well but it didn’t work and my foundation looked cakey so I know for the fact that this primer is working well, it’s just the foundation that is not working for me. It’s too bad because I used to like it a lot.

Liquid base

Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15, RM159 + Foundation Pump, RM35

I got a sample of this during one of my recent purchases at MAC and it was like love at the first sight when I tried it for the first time. Oh my god. As you can see for the photo, it doesn’t look cakey although I did have powder to set the foundation. It is such a beautiful foundation and it does have SPF15 as well although not that much to protect your skin and you still have to incorporate SPF in your routine. I have a feeling that this is going to be my holy grail foundation for a really long time. My shade is NC15 for reference.

Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, RM149

I got this powder a while back after the SA lightly dust the powder around the perimeter of my face and it’s just so gorgeous! It gives me a flawless look that doesn’t look cakey at all. It gets even more beautiful after oil starts seeping through and your face just.. glow. I love this powder so much. If you think the price tag is a turn off for a powder, be like me and use this powder for special occasions and get a drugstore one for your routine out and about. That way, you’ll get a longer use out of it. That’s what I do with expensive makeup that can run out pretty quickly. My shade is Medium Plus for reference.
